This toolkit is for our community leaders and messengers to use to communicate with people who care about the environment and access to the outdoors in our communities. Use the sample copy below—and please, customize it to your own voice and tone—to share messages of support through your organization’s channels.

This resource is designed to be printed on a double-sided 18″ x 24″ yard sign—with one side in English and the other in Spanish. Have community members place these signs in their yards to remind people passing by to complete the census.

The process of counting people experiencing homelessness in the 2020 Census is particularly challenging and unique given the COVID-19 pandemic. This flyer offers information and instructions for service providers who work with people experiencing homelessness at group facilities, soup kitchens, shelters, and regularly scheduled food vans to help count the people they serve.
