This toolkit should be used to highlight the importance of making sure that all Native people are counted in the 2020 Census on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, October 12, 2020.

This toolkit includes sample content for organizations to use to remind people about how to complete the census and self-respond to avoid a visit from a census worker and what to expect during the non-response follow-up process. Use the sample messaging to share messages on social media, via text message, in e-newsletters and email blasts, and on your website.

These messages can be used at any time, but will be particularly important in the weeks leading up to and during non-response follow up. As of June 2020, non-response follow up by Census Bureau workers is scheduled to start August 11, 2020 and run through the end of October 2020.
